Chlebovica Liquid Bread
Chlebovica is a true distillate made from premium rye bread. This world unique is the result of months of intense experimentation to combine two traditional Slovak crafts, baking masters and the craft of distillation.
Due to the high carbohydrate content in the crunchy bread, bakers and distillers joined forces and began to write the history of Chlebovica. During the baking process, dextrins are formed, which give Chlebovica a subtle caramel undertone. The bread ferments in a barrel for up to ten days at a regulated temperature and under special conditions. The distillation itself then takes a few hours, and the resulting distillate is left to mature for at least six months to stabilize and soften. It resembles young whiskey before it is placed in wooden barrels for aging. The production of Chlebovica has significant ecological importance in relation to the utilization of surplus bakery bread.
