It was founded by Maximilian Wagner and Sebastian Brack with the vision of bringing something new to the world of aperitifs – a vermouth that is based on local wine from the Baden region and enriched with carefully selected herbs, spices, and fruits.

Production and Character

Belsazar Vermouth is made from selected wines from the Kaiserstuhl and Markgräflerland regions, known for their freshness and minerality. The following are macerated into these wines:

• herbs and spices,
• citrus peels,
• flowers and roots,
• as well as the local traditional “Südschwarzwald” macerate.

Each ingredient undergoes thorough aging in cherry wood barrels, which adds softness, round texture, and typical German terroir to the vermouth.
