Like the best gins in the world, Aviation is distilled using its own maceration recipe, creating a pure blend of botanical flavors. It is produced in Diageo, New York, USA. Co-owner is the outstanding actor Ryan Reynolds.

It all starts with a precise blend of botanicals - cardamom, coriander, French lavender, anise seed, sarsaparilla, juniper, and two types of orange peel. The botanicals are steeped for 18 hours in neutral grain spirit in maceration tanks.

The macerate is then pumped into the distillation apparatus along with pure water.

The distillation process takes about 7 hours, and at this point, the "heart of the distillate" has an alcohol value of 142 proof.

The "heart of the distillate" is transferred to a mixing tank, where pure water is added to achieve the desired gin concentration of 84 proof.
