The Botanist is a premium gin brand from the Isle of Islay, known primarily for its whisky production. This brand is the creation of Bruichladdich Distillery, which was founded in 1881. Bruichladdich is known for its innovative approach to distillation and emphasis on sustainability, local ingredients, and tradition.

The Botanist brand was launched in 2011 as the first and only dry gin from Islay. It features a unique combination of 22 hand-foraged botanicals from the Isle of Islay, such as mint, red clover, oregano, and other local plants, complemented by nine classic gin botanicals. The distillation takes place in a special still called “Ugly Betty” during a slow 17-hour process, giving the gin its complex and delicate flavor.

The Botanist is not just a tribute to traditional craftsmanship, but also a celebration of Islay's unique terroir, which is reflected in every drop. Bruichladdich Distillery emphasizes eco-friendly practices, supporting the local community, and preserving natural resources.
