Sister Isles

The Sister Isles rum brand is produced by the Spanish company The Haciendas Rhum Company Spain, S.L., based in Madrid.

The production process of these rums is unique in that it combines traditional Caribbean methods with European winemaking skills. The rum is distilled from molasses on the islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis, where it is aged for more than 6 years in oak barrels. It is then transferred to the Duero Valley in Spain, specifically to Hacienda Zorita, where it is aged for another 2 to 4 years in red wine barrels. The final maturation takes place in sweet wine barrels, such as Moscatel or Pedro Ximénez, in Montilla in the province of Córdoba.

This triple maturation process gives Sister Isles rums a complex and rich flavour profile, which is the result of a combination of tropical and continental maturation. The rum is first aged in the Caribbean, then in red wine barrels in Spain and finally in sweet wine barrels. This ageing process is inspired by traditional methods used in the production of premium Spanish wines, giving Sister Isles rums their characteristic smoothness and complexity.
