São Lourenço

São Lourenço is a winery located in the Bairrada wine region, in the village of São Lourenço do Bairro in Portugal, belonging to the Fladgate Still & Sparkling Wines group (formerly Ideal Drinks). It focuses mainly on the production of premium sparkling wines using traditional methods (méthode traditionnelle).

The vineyards are situated on karst limestone subsoil with an exceptional terroir, the soil is rich in calcium and the vines are planted at a density of up to 6,172 vines per hectare. (This is 61 hectares of vineyards).

The history of the vineyard dates back to the early 19th century, and before that, the property belonged to well-known Portuguese personalities.

The Colinas de São Lourenço brand represents the excellent quality of local Portuguese sparkling wine production, combining traditional methods (méthode traditionnelle), the terroir regional characteristics of Bairrada and the experience of award-winning wines.
