Remedy

Remedy is an original brand of rum, whose story goes back to the times of American Prohibition. According to legend, it was created as a "secret medicine" against alcohol prohibitions - hence its name "Remedy" (medicine). This story gives the brand a playful, rebellious character and distinguishes it from classic Caribbean rums.

The Remedy brand itself is now a European project under Sierra Madre GmbH from Germany. The rum is produced as a blend of distillates from the Caribbean, mainly from the Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, and Barbados. Each of these countries contributes its own style to the final blend – from smooth and clean rums from column still distillation to fuller and more aromatic rums from pot stills. Maturation takes place in tropical conditions in oak barrels, mainly ex-bourbon, and blending then takes place in Europe, with the aim of creating a smooth, accessible and sweeter profile.

Spiced rum Remedy is made from Caribbean distillates that are matured in oak barrels and then blended into a harmonious whole. It brings notes of caramel, vanilla, honey and fine spices to the taste, while maintaining a pleasant sweetness and smooth expression. This makes it popular not only for sipping on its own, but also as a base for mixed drinks in the tiki style or classic rum cocktails.

The brand's portfolio consists of various versions aimed at a wider audience. The best known is Remedy Spiced Rum, flavored with a blend of spices and herbs, which has a sweet and delicate taste, ideal for cocktails. Remedy Elixir is a more liqueur-like variant, very sweet, with distinctive notes of vanilla, caramel, and fruit. The modern and fresh face of the brand is represented by Remedy Pineapple, flavored with pineapple, which has found popularity especially in mixed drinks. In addition to these, there is also a classic blended version of Remedy Rum, suitable for sipping or mixing.

The brand is also interesting in its retro design - the bottles resemble old pharmacy containers, which directly follows the legend of "medicinal" rum during Prohibition. Remedy thus combines history, a stylish image and an accessible taste, thanks to which it has found a place in bars and home collections across Europe.
