Providence is a rum brand originating from Haiti, specifically from Port-au-Prince, where the Distillerie de Port-au-Prince was established in 2018. It is a collaboration between the Haitian Barbancourt-Linge family (descendants of the famous rum dynasty Barbancourt) and the European company La Maison & Velier. The aim of the project was to revive traditional artisanal rum production practices and restore the production of “pot still” rum in Haiti after nearly three decades.

The driving force behind it is Herbert Barbancourt‑Linge Jr., a descendant of the Barbancourt founders, who became the master distiller and daily manager of the operation in Port-au-Prince. His goal is to restore the traditional distillation methods practiced by his ancestors while bringing the authenticity of agricultural raw materials and the local community into the rum-making process.

Providence is thus a young yet very ambitious brand that combines the history of Barbancourt, traditional pot still distillation methods, and agricole raw materials typical of the terroir of Haiti. With its philosophy and artisanal approach, it brings authentic Haitian rum with a deep cultural heritage to the global market.
