Powers Whiskey is one of Ireland's iconic whiskey brands with a rich history dating back to 1791. Founder John Power established a small distillery on Thomas Street in Dublin. Initially starting out as a craft producer, Powers' emphasis on quality and innovation has made it one of Ireland's most prominent whiskey brands.

In 1886, the distillery was among the first to implement on-site bottling. This move ensured the authenticity and consistent quality of each bottle, which quickly endeared them to consumers. It was Powers that was the first Irish whiskey to use the iconic triangle-embossed bottle, symbolizing its three core values of quality, craft and tradition.

Throughout its history, the brand has endured challenging times, including the period of Prohibition in the US, economic decline in Ireland and the rise of competition. Despite these challenges, Powers has remained true to its philosophy of producing authentic Irish whiskey with an emphasis on rich flavor and craftsmanship.

Today, Powers is part of the Irish Distillers group, which includes other iconic brands such as Jameson and Redbreast. Powers whiskey is renowned for its distinctive 'pot still' flavour, strong spicy notes and the perfect balance between tradition and modern production methods.
