Považský Repák
Považský Repák from Old Herold is an exceptional spirit with deep roots in the Trenčín region. Its history dates back more than 100 years, when it was prepared in the hills of the White Carpathians and Myjava. Today, this drink is considered a culinary specialty that has won the hearts of lovers of traditional Slovak spirits. The basis of its production is sugar beet juice, which undergoes fermentation and subsequent distillation to achieve its characteristic taste and aroma.
The production process of Považský Repák involves the fermentation of sugar beet juice, during which unwanted earthy flavors are removed while preserving the delicate and balanced taste of the beet. After fermentation, the distillate matures in ceramic vessels, which contributes to its smooth and delicious taste. This distillate is also known as "rabbit cognac" and is intended for those who appreciate its strong character and traditional origin.
Považský Repák has won several awards confirming its quality and uniqueness. Among the most significant are the gold medal at the Vinum Laugaricio competition in 2008 and the quality award at the Slovak Gold competition in 2009. With an alcohol content of 52 % and a volume of 0,7 l, it is an ideal gift for lovers of traditional Slovak spirits.
