Považský Repák
Považský Repák from Old Herold is an exceptional distillate with deep roots in the Trenčín region. Its history dates back more than 100 years, when it was produced in the Biele Karpaty and Myjava hills. Today, this drink is considered a culinary specialty that has won the hearts of lovers of traditional Slovak distillates. The base of its production is sugar beet juice, which undergoes fermentation and subsequent distillation, achieving its characteristic taste and aroma.
The production process of Považský Repák involves the fermentation of sugar beet juice, during which undesirable earthy flavors are removed while preserving the delicate and balanced taste of the beet. After fermentation, the distillate ages in ceramic vessels, contributing to its smooth and delicious flavor. This distillate is also known by the nickname "rabbit brandy" and is intended for those who appreciate its strong character and traditional origin.
Považský Repák has received several awards that confirm its quality and uniqueness. Among the most significant are the gold medal at the Vinum Laugaricio competition in 2008 and the quality award at the Slovak Gold competition in 2009.
