The brand name means "Death Squad" and refers to a group of fighters during the Mexican Revolution who carried a skull symbol on their flag – today, this iconography is reflected in the bottle design and brand identity.

Mezcal Pelotón de la Muerte is made from 100% agave espadín. The agave is roasted in traditional earthen pits, then crushed using a tahona stone, naturally fermented in wooden fermentation vessels, and distilled in copper pot stills. This process ensures the authentic character of the drink with a full smoky aroma, herbal notes, and a subtly sweet finish.
