Papalin

Papalin is an independent rum brand, founded by Italian rum visionary Luca Gargano, founder of Velier. The Papalin project was created to show how different rums from one island or region can be combined into a unique blend that retains its authentic character and terroir.

Unlike conventional blended rums, Papalin works exclusively with rums without added sugar or artificial ingredients. All blends are hand-selected, matured in barrels and then bottled in limited editions. The portfolio includes Papalin Jamaica, which combines different styles of Jamaican rums with their typical ester strength and fruitiness, or Papalin Haiti, which highlights the rustic and authentic character of the local pot still rums.

Papalin rums have a distinctive and honest flavor. They are dominated by notes of tropical fruits such as bananas, pineapple, and citrus, complemented by fermentation nuances—olives, herbs, and flowers—that are characteristic of Haiti. Oak adds vanilla, caramel, and subtle spice, giving the rum balance.

Interestingly, the name "Papalin" was inspired by a historical Caribbean word for rum sold to sailors - which gives the brand a nostalgic and adventurous touch. Papalin thus represents a unique opportunity to taste rum compositions created by one of the greatest experts in this world.
