The brand Pacho Matrtaj draws inspiration from the legend of the bandit Pacho from Hybe – a character known from the cult film Pacho, the Bandit from Hybe (1975). This spirit of bandit heroism and Slovak folklore is reflected in the brand's identity – the products are enriched with history, nostalgia, and pride in Slovak origin.

The manufacturer, PACHO MATRTAJ Z HYBE, s.r.o., is based in Trnava and builds on traditional values and craftsmanship, aiming to stand out in the market as a quality Slovak choice.

Distillates from Pacho Matrtaj are produced without added aromas, colorants, or sugar – they are a pure craft product. Products, such as the popular Frndžalica, mature in oak barrels for at least 2 years and utilize natural infusion and a splendid "angel's share" (approximately 4% annually during the process). The packaging is handcrafted with a minimum of 18 work steps – from filling, through labeling, to final design.

In addition to CSSR Vodka and Frndžalica, Pacho Matrtaj also offers other craft spirits – for example, Borôvka, which is a blend of juniper and grain distillate. The entire range bears a distinct Slovak message, while the packaging design is often unique and striking – featuring bottles with printed metallic foil and a unique closure that enhances the feeling of exclusivity and authenticity.
