Myers's

The Myers's Rum brand was founded in 1879 in Kingston, Jamaica, by merchant Frederick Louis Myers (Fred L. Myers), who decided to change his career and invest in local rum. His goal was to create an authentic Jamaican dark rum based exclusively on local molasses and traditional distillation methods – an exceptionally full-bodied and distinctive spirit based on family tradition.

Since its founding in 1879, the brand has been developed under the leadership of the Myers family for two generations. In 1955, it was acquired by the Canadian company Seagram to expand its portfolio of Jamaican rums. It later passed into the ownership of Diageo, and in 2018, along with other brands, it was acquired by the conglomerate Sazerac for USD 550 million.

Myers's Rum is distilled at the Monymusk Distillery (Jamaica) using a blend of nine different molasses rums that undergo a combination of column and pot still distillation. The resulting distillate is aged in American white oak barrels for up to four years to acquire its characteristic dark colour, caramel notes and rich depth of flavour. The brand has retained these distinctive characteristics for over 140 years and remains one of the most famous Jamaican dark rums in the world.
