Scotch whisky with a modern spirit

Monkey Shoulder is a blended malt whisky created in 2005 by William Grant & Sons, the family-owned company behind Glenfiddich and Balvenie. Its name comes from the old term “monkey shoulder” – a shoulder strain that affected maltmen who manually turned barley during traditional malting.

A blend of three Speyside malts

Monkey Shoulder is made exclusively from single malts of three Speyside distilleries – Glenfiddich, Balvenie, and Kininvie. It matures in charred ex-bourbon casks, which bring smooth sweetness and notes of vanilla, caramel, and toasted nuts. The result is a whisky with a balanced, rich character and a playful soul.
