Mocambo

Mocambo is a prestigious Mexican rum brand produced in the city of Córdoba in the state of Veracruz by Licores Veracruz, a company with roots dating back to 1896. The company chose its current name approximately 75 years ago and has since been one of the main initiators of the renaissance of quality rums in Mexico.

The brand focuses heavily on the production of premium rums, with its best-known product being Mocambo 20 Años Edición Arte – a single-cask rum aged for 20 years in European white oak barrels, stored in a humid subtropical environment at an altitude of 900 metres above sea level.

Mocambo combines modern production with artisanal aesthetics – Edición Arte bottles are hand-wrapped in traditional amate fibres, feature artwork by Víctor Fernández and reference the pre-Columbian Olmec culture. Each bottle is original and crafted as an art object, which the brand confirms as a ‘homage to old pre-Columbian techniques’.
