Merser Rum, full name Charles Merser & Co, was established in 2019 as a London rum distillery founded by the Hayman family. The family has deep roots in London's iconic 19th-century rum trade. The brand's goal was to revive the history of rum blending in London, and the company became the first rum distillery of its kind in the British capital in over a century.

Merser sources high-quality rums from various Caribbean regions — Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad, the Dominican Republic — and ages them for varying lengths of time, from newer versions (up to 8 years) to older vintages (up to 12 years). These rums are then brought to London, where they are carefully blended in a blending workshop and left to mature in Scottish whisky casks for several weeks to months to achieve a smooth, elegant profile without added colourings or sweeteners.
