Mansinthe

The Mansinthe brand was created in July 2007 as a unique collaborative project between the Swiss distillery Matter-Luginbühl AG, an expert in absinthe, German importer Markus Loin (Absinthe.de) and renowned rock artist Marilyn Manson, who was known for his passionate love of absinthe. Marilyn Manson was actively involved in developing the recipe – he tasted samples, provided feedback and even lent his stage name to the bottle label.

Mansinthe is an example of traditional absinthe with a natural green colour obtained from herbs without artificial colouring or sweeteners, and is bottled at a strong alcohol content of 66,6 %, which enhances its controversial aesthetics. The recipe is based on the Lion Spirits team's many years of experience with Duplais absinthe, which is linked to the high quality of the herbs — macerated in alcohol and then distilled according to classic legislative procedures.

Mansinthe is not only a product but also an artistic message — the label is adorned with an original watercolour painting by Marilyn Manson entitled When I Get Old. It quickly gained recognition: in 2008, it won a gold medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The product thus combined the tradition of absinthe (once popular with cult artists such as Hemingway and Toulouse-Lautrec) with a modern artist steeped in rock aesthetics, creating an embodiment of cult luxury with a mystical and provocative edge.
