The brand Mansinthe was created in July 2007 as an exceptional collaborative project of the Swiss distillery Matter‑Luginbühl AG, an expert in absinthe, together with the German importer Markus Loin (Absinthe.de) and the famous rock artist Marilyn Manson, who was known for his passionate love for absinthe. Marilyn Manson actively participated in the development of the recipe - tasting samples, providing feedback, and lending his artistic name to the bottle label.

Mansinthe is an example of traditional absinthe with a natural green color, derived from herbs without artificial coloring or sweeteners, and is bottled at a high alcohol content of 66.6 %, which enhances its controversial aesthetic. The recipe is based on the long-standing experience of the Lion Spirits team with absinthe Duplais, which is tied to the high quality of herbs — macerated in alcohol and subsequently distilled according to classic legislative procedures.

Mansinthe is not just a product, but also an artistic message - the label features an original watercolor painting by Marilyn Manson titled When I Get Old. It quickly earned its place: by 2008, it had won a gold medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The product thus combined the tradition of absinthe (which was once favored by cult artists like Hemingway and Toulouse-Lautrec) with a modern artist rooted in rock aesthetics, creating an embodied cult luxury with a mystical and provocative edge.
