Gusano Rojo Mezcal

Gusano Rojo Mezcal is a Mexican brand that produces mezcal. It was one of the first brands to start putting worms in bottles.

Legend has it that a bottler employee, Jacobo Lozano Páez, came up with the idea in the 1940s, before the mezcal got its current name.

The name "Gusano Rojo" comes from a worm that grows in agave and can be considered a delicacy with aphrodisiac properties.
