Glengarry is a brand of Scotch whiskey from the Highland region , named after Alexander Ranaldson MacDonell of Glengarry. He was one of the last great commanders, who, even after the ban on wearing traditional Scottish kilts and tartans in the British army, did not cease to identify himself as Scottish and proved his origin by wearing a Scottish cap.
