George Dickel

Born in Germany in 1818, George Dickel was a successful Nashville merchant who loved good whiskey. He founded Dickel Distillery in Cascade Hollow in 1870, and his business prospered until 1910, when a ban was imposed in Tennessee, forcing all distilleries in the state to close. In 1958, Master Distiller Ralph Dupps rebuilt the distillery and resumed production. To ensure the authenticity of this whiskey, Dupps obtained original Dickel manuscripts with a unique recipe and description of the process used to create this special drink. Today, John Lunn runs this Master Distiller distillery and continues the tradition of good Tennessee whiskey.
