Gammel Dansk is an iconic Danish herbal liqueur that was first introduced in 1964. It was created by Danish Distillers in response to the growing popularity of foreign bitters, with the aim of bringing an authentic Danish product. The recipe for the liqueur combines over 30 types of spices and herbs – from cinnamon and ginger to star anise – and is still kept strictly secret to this day.

Gammel Dansk has become a national symbol of Denmark and is traditionally consumed as an aperitif or digestif on special occasions, as well as during breakfast or festive toasts.
