The El Pasador de Oro brand was created as a result of collaboration between two worlds: the tropical wealth of Guatemala and the craftsmanship of France.

It was created by the French company Les Bienheureux, founded in 2013 by Jean Moueix (from the famous Château Pétrus wine-making family) and Alexandre Sirech, former manager of the Pernod Ricard group.

The common goal of both founders was to create exceptional spirits with an emphasis on authentic origin and a refined flavor profile. El Pasador de Oro is not a typical "Caribbean rum" – it is a brand that combines Guatemala's rum - making heritage with French attention to detail and aging.

All of the brand's rums are distilled in Guatemala from molasses or sugar cane and then aged for several years in a tropical climate, often using the Solera system.

Only then do they travel to France, specifically to the Charente region, known for its cognac production. Here, they undergo their final maturation in ex-cognac barrels, which gives the rums the depth, elegance, and smoothness that sets them apart from others.

The name "El Pasador de Oro" translates as "golden guide" – symbolically referring to the process of carefully selecting the rum ingredients and their subsequent "journey" from Guatemala to France, where they take their final form. Each rum in this brand represents a harmony between origin and refined finish, making them popular among connoisseurs and newcomers to the world of rum alike.

Today, El Pasador de Oro is available in several premium variants – from the smooth XO, through the complex Gran Reserva, to the intense El Pasador de Oro 50 – and is considered one of the most sophisticated European rum projects with international success.
