Domaine De La Baume

Domaine De La Baume is a renowned winery located in the heart of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, specifically in the village of Servian between the towns of Béziers and Pézenas in France. This winery is known for its quality wines that reflect the richness and diversity of the local terroir.

The winery was founded in 1880 by Jean Prat, who, after the crisis caused by phylloxera, restored the abandoned vineyards and built the estate known as ‘La Folie’. Over a period of twenty years, Prat and his sons replanted 100 hectares of vineyards and in 1900 opened a wine shop on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris, thereby contributing significantly to the development of the winery.

Since 2003, Domaine de la Baume has been part of the Les Grands Chais de France group, led by Joseph Helfrich. Under his leadership, the winery continues to develop and promote its wines on the international scene.

Domaine de la Baume cultivates approximately 176 hectares of vineyards, where varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Roussanne, Cabernet Blanc, Cinsault, Grenache, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Pinot Noir are grown. Domaine La Baume

The winery benefits from a variety of soil types, including limestone pebbles on the slopes and clay-limestone or sandy-clay soils on the high plateaus. These conditions allow for the production of wines with a rich aromatic profile. In winemaking, emphasis is placed on preserving the typical characteristics of each variety and terroir, using modern techniques such as cold stabilisation and selective harvesting by individual plots.
