Domaine de Barboss is a French winery located in the area near Mandelieu-la-Napoule close to Cannes, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Massif de l’Estérel mountain range.

Winery History

The history of vine cultivation in this area dates back hundreds of years, with the first modern wines from this estate being produced around the 1950s. In 2005, the winery underwent significant modernization and today represents a smaller, artisanal winery that emphasizes terroir and organic farming.

Types of Wine

The vineyards are spread out on a unique volcanic soil called rhyolite, which gives the wines a distinct mineral character. Varieties such as Syrah, Cinsault, Rolle, and Clairette are cultivated here, and production follows the principles of organic winemaking. The wines mature in wooden barrels, concrete containers, or stainless steel tanks to preserve the delicacy and authentic character of the grapes. Thanks to the combination of maritime climate and specific soil, wines with elegant structure and freshness are created.

Domaine de Barbossi is now also known for its complex experiential winemaking – visitors can enjoy tastings, vineyard tours, and discover local gastronomy. Production is relatively small, allowing for a focus on the quality and character of each vintage.
