Czechoslovakia

The idea for the Czechoslovakia brand was conceived in early 2010 as a project of Karloff s.r.o. from Kežmarok (Spiš region), a company known for its Tatratea brand. The aim was to create a vodka that represents the connection between the Czech Republic and Slovakia in all its forms: the name Czechoslovakia was chosen deliberately to be strong and understandable even abroad, where ‘Slovakia’ alone is often not so well known.

The vodka is composed of 60 % high-quality grain spirit from Kojetín in the Czech Republic (a historic railway location, where the distillery has been operating since 1912) and 40% crystal-clear water from the High Tatras in Slovakia, specifically from Kežmarok. This combination forms the heart of the brand's philosophy – ‘brotherly vodka’ – based on shared historical roots and natural resources.

The bottle, designed by Brian Males (Pencil Visual), symbolically depicts a map of the Czech Republic and Slovakia divided by Moravia, a panorama of the Tatra Mountains, and uses colour symbolism – blue-green for Slovakia and gold for Bohemia.
