In the Dutch city of Amsterdam, in the year 1575, a small distillery was opened by a family. Their curiosity and knowledge in the field of distillation led this family to constantly discover new flavors. They carefully selected the best ingredients and created original recipes that still keep their secrets today. For more than four centuries, their experiences have been preserved in Bols products. Nowadays, the brand also closely collaborates with professional bartenders from around the world, successfully adapting old recipes to modern trends.

The wide range of Bols liqueurs can be categorized based on the raw materials used and the production methods. Fruit liqueurs (mostly named after the predominant fruit used), so-called "creams" (with a sugar content of at least 28%), core liqueurs (based on stone fruits and edible seeds), herbal liqueurs with selected herbs and spices, and so-called "emulsion" liqueurs. The consumption of liqueurs is very diverse, but primarily as part of mixed drinks.
