Barack Pálinka is an authentic Hungarian fruit spirit made exclusively from apricots (in Hungarian, ‘barack’ includes the meanings “apricot” and ‘peach’) sourced exclusively from Hungarian production.

This spirit is protected as a geographical indication (PDO) under European and Hungarian law, meaning that only a high-quality product distilled, matured and bottled in Hungary can bear this name.

Apricots are harvested in the Hungarian lowlands, gently fermented and then distilled, most often by double distillation in small batches.

Typical Barack Pálinka is clear to slightly golden in colour, with a distinctive fruity aroma – a strong scent of apricots with a hint of spice and a subtle herbal background. The taste is fresh, slightly sweet and spicy, with an emphasis on pure fruit tones, floral or herbal undertones and a pleasant finish. The fruit is dominant and the taste of apricots is clearly recognisable.
