Barack Pálinka is an authentic Hungarian fruit brandy made exclusively from apricots (in Hungarian, "barack" encompasses the meanings of "apricot" and "peach") sourced solely from Hungarian production.

This distillate is protected as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) under European and Hungarian legal standards – it can only be called this if it is a qualitatively produced product distilled, aged, and bottled in Hungary.

Apricots are harvested from the Hungarian plains, gently fermented, and then distilled – most often by double distillation in small batches.

A typical Barack Pálinka is clear to slightly golden, with a pronounced fruity aroma – a strong scent of apricots with hints of spice and a subtle herbal background. The taste is fresh, slightly sweet, and spicy, emphasizing pure fruit tones, the presence of floral or herbal undertones, and a pleasant finish. The fruit is dominant, and the taste of apricots is distinctly recognizable.
