The name comes from the Spanish word pagos, which refers to land with vineyards. Hampden Estate Pagos 2023 is the first bottle in the distillery's history to be matured exclusively in ex-sherry casks. This new version of Hampden Estate Pagos is the result of a collaboration with the famous Bodegas Fundador in Jerez, based on the idea to age Hampden rum exclusively in the prestigious 500-litre ex-sherry Oloroso casks.
After 3 years of maturation, Pagos was bottled at 52 % ABV. The colour, aroma and flavour of Pagos are deeply imbued with the unique woody notes of Oloroso.
Aromas of walnuts, dried grapes and dried straw mark the empty glass and transport us back to southern Spain.
